Pegmatites

Bimbowrieite is a new mineral, approved on 2020 and to date (March 2024) reported only from the type locality.

Localities

At the type locality, White Rock No. 2 pegmatite, White Rock Feldspar Mine, Old Boolcoomata Station, Bimbowrie Conservation Park, Olary Province, South Australia, bimbowrieite, has been found in the mineralogically zoned rare-element bearing pegmatite. The crystals are dark olive-green to greenish brown and are bladed with dimensions of up to 150 μm, occuring as aggregates up to 0.4 mm across. Associated minerals include ushkovite, bermanite, leucophosphite and sellaite (MM 88.90-96).
