Localities

At the Kusu vanadium deposit, Kongo Central, DR Congo, chervetite is associated with mottramite, cuprite, heyite, dioptase, malachite, plancheite, vanadinite and wakefieldite-(Ce) (HOM).

At the type locality, the Mounana mine, Mounana, Léboumbi-Leyou Department, Haut-Ogooué Province, Gabon, chervetite occurs associated with francevillite and more rarely with wulfenite in the zone of oxidation. It is found as nearly colourless crystals from less than one mm to several cm and always twinned; also as pseudomorphs after francevillite (AM 48.1413-1421).
