Franksousaite is a new mineral, approved in 2021 and to date (October 2022) reported only from the type locality.

Localities

At the type locality, the El Dragón mine, Porco Municipality, Antonio Quijarro Province, Potosí, Bolivia, franksousaite occurs as short prismatic crystals included in colourless anglesite. Associated minerals are cobalt-bearing krut'aitepenroseite, chalcomenite, schmiederite, olsacherite, phosgenite, anglesite and cerussite (MM 86.5.792-798).
