Hydrothermal environments

Helmutwinklerite is a very rare secondary mineral found in corroded tennantite ore from a dolostone - hosted hydrothermal polymetallic ore deposit (Webmin).

Localities

At the type locality, the Tsumeb mine, Tsumeb, Oshikoto Region, Namibia, helmutwinklerite occurs in cavities in corroded tennantite from a dolostone - hosted hydrothermal polymetallic ore deposit. Associated minerals include tennantite, quartz and willemite (AM 65.1067, HOM, Dana)
