Pegmatites

Luanshiweiite is a relatively new mineral, approved in 2012 and to date (June 2025) reported only from the type locality.

Localities

At the type locality, Pegmatite vein no. 309, Guanpo pegmatite field, Guanpo, Lushi County, Sanmenxia, Henan, China, luanshiweiite occurs in veinlets cutting and the outer zone of a granitic pegmatite dike. Associated minerals include quartz, an F-dominant analog of luanshiweiite, montebrasite, pollucite, bismutotantalite, Na- and Ca- poor but Li- and OH- or F- rich tourmaline, tantalite, tantalite-(Mn), trilithionite, polylithionite(?), microlite group minerals, albite, spodumene, oxynatromicrolite, fluorcalciomicrolite and muscovite (HOM).
