Michenerite is a principal palladium mineral in copper-nickel sulphide deposits, associated with froodite, merenskyite, moncheite, kotulskite, melonite, sobolevskite, hollingworthite, sperrylite, hessite, chalcopyrite, pentlandite, cubanite and pyrrhotite (HOM).

Localities

There are two co-type localities, the Vermilion mine, Denison Township, and the Frood mine, McKim Township, both in the Sudbury District, Ontario, Canada.
