At the type locality, Naujakasik, Tunulliarfik Fjord, Ilímaussaq complex, Kujalleq, Greenland, naujakasite occurs in an alkalic intrusion, intimately associated with arfvedsonite (AM 20.138). Other associated minerals include steenstrupine-(Ce), sodalite and analcime (Mindat, HOM).
