Pegmatites

Nordite is extremely rare in sodalite syenite pegmatites (Webmin, HOM). Minerals associated with nordite-(La) include sodalite, ussingite, murmanite, chkalovite, belovite, steenstrupine-(Ce), lomonosovite, eudialyte, microcline, nepheline, aegirine, sphalerite, neptunite and lamprophyllite (HOM).

Localities

At the type locality, Pegmatite No. 65, Chinglusuai River Valley, Lovozersky District, Murmansk Oblast, Russia, nordite-(La) occurs in sodalite syenite associated with sodalite variety hackmanite, ussingite, neotocite variety chinglusuite and lomonosovite. Lamprophyllite, eudialyte, microcline, nepheline, aegirine, sphalerite and neptunite are subordinate minerals (AM 28.283).
