Localities

The only reported locality to date (August 2020) is the type locality, the Narsaq River pegmatite, Kvanefjeld, Ilímaussaq complex, Narsaq, Kujalleq, Greenland. Here orthojoaquinite-(La) was found as masses up to 4 x 3 x 1 cm, consisting of bent flakes 1 mm long, in the intermediate zone of nepheline-sodalite syenite pegmatites. Associated minerals include riebeckite, analcime, sodalite and steenstrupine-(Ce) (Mindat, Minrec 33.2.166).
