Localities

At the type locality, the Wessels mine, Hotazel, Kalahari manganese field, Northern Cape, South Africa, potassic-mangani-leakeite occurs as bundles of fibres (5-20 µm in diameter), often bent, with a maximum fibre length less than 200 µm. It forms dark red 'felt' rims around hennomartinite. Associated minerals include pectolite and hennomartinite (Mindat).
