Strontio-orthojoaquinite was redefined in 1979, and to date (February 2023) has been reported only at Ōmi, Itoigawa City, Niigata Prefecture, Japan (two locations).

Localities

At the type locality, Ōmi, Itoigawa City, Niigata Prefecture, Japan, strontio-orthojoaquinite occurs in an amphibolite - quartz - albitite dike cutting serpentinite, associated with benitoite and leucosphenite (HOM).
