Localities

At the type locality, an unnamed U deposit, Tengchong County, Baoshan, Yunnan, China, tengchongite occurs in the oxide zone of a uranium mineralisation on the contacts between migmatite and a migmatitic gneiss. It is closely associated with studtite and calcurmolite (AM 73.195-196).
