Pegmatites

Tengerite-(Y) occurs as an alteration coating on yttrium-bearing minerals such as gadolinite (Webmin, HOM). Associated minerals include gadolinite-(Y), lokkaite-(Y), kimuraite-(Y), iimoriite-(Y), keiviite-(Y), bastnäsite-(Ce), thalénite-(Y), lanthanite, synchysite, calcite and quartz (HOM, Mindat).

At the type locality, Ytterby, Resarö, Vaxholm, Stockholm, Sweden, tengerite-(Y) occurs in a rare-earth-rich granite pegmatite (Mindat).
