Zinconigerite-6N6S is a new mineral, approved in 2018.

Localities

At the type locality, the Xianghualing mine, Xianghualing Sn-polymetallic ore field, Linwu county, Chenzhou, Hunan, China, zinconigerite-6N6S and zinconigerite-2N1S have been discovered in skarn as aggregates, sub-to-euhedral crystals up to 100 μm in size, within fluorite aggregates, and closely associated with phlogopite, chrysoberyl, magnetite, cassiterite, margarite and nigerite-taaffeite group minerals.
Zinconigerite-6N6S likely crystallised under fluorine-rich conditions during late stages of the skarn formation (AM 107.1952-1959).
