Localities

At the type locality, the Khautovaara Cu-Ni Deposit, Suojärvi District, Republic of Karelia, Russia, borovskite occurs as irregular grains 0.01-0.2 mm in size, embedded in pyrrhotite, less often in chalcopyrite, sometimes intergrown with altaite, in massive pentlandite-chalcopyrite-pyrrhotite ores of hydrothermal origin (AM 59.873).
