Ferriphoxite is a new mineral, approved in 2024 and to date (July 2025) reported only from the type locality.

Localities

At the type locality, 125 foot level, Rowley Mine, Theba, Painted Rock Mining District, Painted Rock Mountains, Maricopa County, Arizona, USA, ferriphoxite and carboferriphoxite occur with antipinite, aphthitalite, baryte, fluorite, hematite and quartz in an unusual bat-guano-related, post-mining assemblage. Ferriphoxite occurs as rectangular blades, up to ∼0.1 mm in length, typically forming sprays (MM 89.1.148-154).
