Gaitite is a very rare secondary arsenate mineral.

At the type locality, the Tsumeb Mine, Oshikoto Region, Namibia, gaitite occurs in a dolostone - hosted, hydrothermal, polymetallic ore deposit, associated with talmessite, prosperite, adamite, conichalcite, austinite, baryte, quartz and chalcocite (HOM).
