Localities

At Mount Perry, North Burnett Region, Queensland, Australia, gatumbaite occurs in altered andesite associated with trolleite, augelite, andalusite, rutile, topaz and quartz (HOM).

At the type locality, the Buranga pegmatite, Gatumba, Ngororero, Western Province, Rwanda, gatumbaite occurs in a complex granite pegmatite associated with trolleite, scorzalite, apatite, bjarebyite and burangaite (AM 63.793-794, HOM, Mindat).
