Localities

At the type locality, the Chauvai Sb-Hg Deposit, Batken Region, Kyrgyzstan, gruzdevite is a low temperature hydrothermal mineral that is found intergrown with well-formed tetrahedral crystals of aktashite, 0.2 to 4 mm in size, growing on stibnite and cinnabar in veinlets. Associated minerals include fluorite, calcite, baryte, metacinnabar and wurtzite (AM 67.855, HOM).
