Metamorphic environments

There are two co-type localities, the Franklin Mine, and the Hamburg Mine, both at Franklin, Franklin Mining District, Sussex county, New Jersey, USA.
Hodgkinsonite is known only from these localities to date (October 2020). It is found as seams in massive willemite-franklinite granular ore in a metamorphosed zinc-manganese deposit. Associated minerals include baryte, willemite, franklinite, tephroite, pyrochroite, calcite, manganoan garnet and copper (HOM, FM 38396).
