Localities

At the type locality, the El Guanaco mine, Guanaco, Santa Catalina, Antofagasta Province, Antofagasta, Chile, lemanskiite occurs as a secondary mineral in the oxidised zone of an enargite-rich hydrothermal gold deposit in an arid environment. Associated minerals include lammerite, olivenite, mansfieldite, senarmontite, a crandallite-group mineral, rutile, anatase, lavendulan, quartz and talc. Lavendulan transforms easily to lemanskiite (HOM, Mindat).
