Rosiaite is a very rare mineral.

Localities

The type locality is the Tafone Mine, Manciano, Grosseto Province, Tuscany, Italy. This is an abandoned antimony mine in the valley of Fosso del Tafone. This deposit differs from all other Tuscan antimony deposits because the stibnite mineralisation is situated in a reducing environment below the water table; consequently, the secondary antimony minerals of the oxidation zone are lacking (Mindat).

At Le Cetine di Cotorniano Mine, Chiusdino, Siena Province, Tuscany, Italy, rosiaite occurs in an antimony deposit in highly silicified evaporites, associated with valentinite, tripuhyite and bindheimite (EJM 8.3.487-492).
