Chalcostibite occurs in hydrothermal veins associated with jamesonite, chalcopyrite, pyrite, tetrahedrite, stibnite, andorite, stannite, dadsonite, siderite, baryte and quartz (HOM, Mindat).

Localities

The type locality is the Graf Jost-Christian Mine, Wolfsberg, Stolberg, Südharz, Mansfeld-Südharz, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany.
