Plumboferrite occurs in bands in metamorphic carbonate rock in lead-bearing iron - manganese orebodies, associated with hematite, magnesioferrite - jacobsite - magnetite solid solutions, lindqvistite, calcite, andradite, phlogopite, hedyphane, svabite, hematophanite, native copper and cuprite (AM80.1065).
